The realistic wood grain appearance is achieved through a sophisticated two-step process called sublimation. First, a durable base layer of powder coating is applied to the aluminum profile and cured. Then, a film printed with a high-resolution wood grain pattern is wrapped around the profile and subjected to heat and pressure. This process turns the ink into a gas that permeates the powder coat, permanently embedding the pattern into the finish. The resulting wood grain aluminum louver finish is exceptionally durable, meeting AAMA 2604 architectural standards for weather and UV resistance, ensuring it will not chip, peel, or fade over time.
