What's the optimal surface treatment for aluminum cladding panels in coastal areas?

Fluorocarbon (PVDF) coating is mandatory for coastal applications. This treatment provides:
– Salt spray resistance exceeding 3,000 hours (ASTM B117)
– 70% higher UV resistance than powder coating
– 25-year color retention warranty
Avoid using standard polyester coatings which degrade within 5 – 7 years under salt corrosion.

Specify 3 – coat PVDF systems with primer/base/clear layers for critical coastal infrastructure.

Implement CNC bending with these parameters:
1. Minimum bending radius = 1.5× panel thickness (e.g., 3mm sheet → 4.5mm radius)
2. Maintain 0.5 – 0.8mm V – groove depth for 90° bends
3. Use 5052/H24 alloy for <3mm thickness curved panels
Critical note: Post – forming anodizing causes micro – cracks. Always apply pre – treatment chromate conversion coating before bending operations.

Hole diameter should not exceed 30% of panel width:
