Yes, our External Batten Cladding is highly suitable for coastal applications. The base material, solid aluminum, is inherently resistant to corrosion. To provide maximum protection against salt spray and other harsh atmospheric conditions, we strongly recommend a PVDF (Fluorocarbon) coating. This premium finish creates an inert, non-porous barrier that prevents corrosive agents from reaching the aluminum surface. This ensures the facade maintains its structural integrity and aesthetic appearance for many years, even in the most demanding marine environments.
The most common high-performance finishes are PVDF (Fluorocarbon) coating and powder coating. PVDF coatings offer the highest level of durability, with excellent resistance to UV rays, chemicals, and pollutants, often lasting 20 years or more. Powder coatings are also very durable, providing a hard, abrasion-resistant finish in an extensive range of colors, with a typical lifespan of 10-15 years before showing significant fading.
